(Columbus - May 19, 2010) The Columbus Stompers' team won the multi-week "Family feud" competition at Score Bar on May 19. They knew all the right answers... or at least the answers to match a survey of bar patrons.
The grand prize for the competition was $1000. The Stompers immediately donated $500 to the Columbus AIDS Task Force (CATF). The remainder will go into the Stompers' general fund to cover ongoing club expenses.
After four rounds, the Columbus Stompers (the "Ali Katts") faced off against the Capital Pride Band. The Stompers were down by 30 points with only one round left.
Hostess Hellin Bedd asked the final survey question.
"What is a term for an extremely attractive man?"
The Stompers have lots of names for extremely attractive men and they were able to match the survey's top five answers before striking out. (The #1 answer: "Hot.") The team from the Cap Pride Band was unable to match the sixth and final answer, "Yummy." The Stompers took the lead and won the game!
The members of the winning team were: David Gates, Burton Griess, Eric Lingafelter, Jerry Phalan and Shaun Whybark. Thanks for all your efforts guys!
