Stompers Bring Home Trophies from International Hoedown

(Austin, Texas - May 29, 2010) The Columbus Stompers made a spectacular showing at the 2010 IAGLCWDC Hoedown in Austin, Texas. With three teams and an exhibition troop, the Stompers were the largest contingent at the 17th-annual event.

Stompers won first place in the Line Team Division. The Open Division team was edged out by a great performance by Southern Line Atlanta. SLA also won the trophy for Best Overall team. The Stompers' couples team of Sharon Crane and Lauren Haas won first place in the Open Division Beginner Waltz and Open Division Beginner Two Step competitions.

The Exhibition Team put on a very fun show Friday evening to the delight of a packed ballroom. The team, featuring a red-wigged Rose Bedd, danced and entertained with samples of "the phone company's" Ernestine Tomlin, Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
